Support from Fostering Service

The Fostering Service understands that carers naturally feel anxious when an allegation is made. Your Fostering Social Worker is there to offer you support throughout the process. They will not, however, be able to comment on the nature of the allegation, or say that they believe your description of events.  What the Fostering Social Worker can do is to listen to your feelings and concerns and keep in regular contact.  They will keep you informed of progress of the investigation as far as possible and also try to ensure that your views are represented.  The Fostering Social Worker’s first priority is always the welfare of the child and information shared by carers will be recorded and placed on file. Counselling is also available through the confidential Thinkwell service, please talk to your supervising social worker regarding a referral.
